World COPD day observed on every 3rd Wednesday of November. This year, on 20th November, we are creating awareness about Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.

COPD is one of the leading causes of mortality and morbidity worldwide. COPD is of two types: Emphysema and Chronic Bronchitis.

According to a report by the National Health Interview Survey, the estimated prevalence of emphysema is found to be 18 cases per 1000 persons and for chronic bronchitis, 34 cases per 1000 persons.
